Thanks for dropping by to learn more about the team behind Hosting Canada. We’re proud of our website that is now trusted by roughly 19,000 Canadians each month as a resource for those venturing into the sometimes murky waters of choosing a web host.
Our mission is simple – to help Canadians build online businesses and blogs. We started in the web design space back in 2017 and quickly realised there wasn’t enough high quality information to help people get started. That was our in.
Before Hosting Canada was born, we spent years dealing with far too many clients using terrible big name web hosts. We decided then to only accept new clients who agreed to go with one of the handful of hosting companies we personally recommended and knew to be legitimate at the time.
Eventually, we decided to expand our recommendations from personal discussions with potential clients and put them on this website for anyone to read and hopefully benefit from.
We started Hosting Canada as an educational resource for people looking to bootstrap their first website or upgrade their hosting. It’s been over 6 years now that we have been studying and evaluating hosting providers regularly, totalling 175+ product reviews and comparisons.

Over the years we’ve had a rotating team of experts across web hosting, design, software architecture, and cyber security join the team. Together we’ve been able to establish stringent testing methodologies for reviewing the products needed by online Canadian businesses. Starting with his own web design company, he quickly realized that many clients had so little understanding of how web hosting works that he decided to share his expertise on Hosting Canada for everyone to grow.

Methodology
Our methodology is designed for rigor and reliability, featuring a two-step rating system. First, we aggregate Users' Scores from major review platforms to gauge public opinion. Second, our Expert's Score is derived from a detailed evaluation process. We use consistent testing methods, criteria, and tools such as Pingdom and UptimeRobot to ensure accurate results.
Web hosting providers are specifically rated based on six key criteria, each scored from 0 to 5. These scores are then averaged for an overall rating. Our criteria range from Reliability and Security to Price and Performance, all tested under real-world scenarios. This systematic approach, backed by our team's diverse expertise, ensures that our reviews are both comprehensive and trustworthy.
